Toshihisa “Toshi” Iida is the new President and Managing Director of Fujifilm Europe GmbH, Düsseldorf, and Fujifilm Europe B.V., Tilburg (Netherlands).

New President and Managing Director of Fujifilm Europe

September 1, 2020, Toshihisa “Toshi” Iida took over the position of President and Managing Director of Fujifilm Europe GmbH, Düsseldorf (Germany), and Fujifilm Europe B.V., Tilburg (Netherlands). The manager, who has held various international functions in the Fujifilm Group for 30 years, succeed Mark Yamamoto, who is assuming a new role as Board Member of Fujifilm Corporation in Tokyo (Japan) and General Manager of the Optical Devices & Electronic Imaging Products.


Despite the weakened global economy at the time of Covid-19, Toshi Iida said he feels well prepared for the coming years. Supported by a strong European team, he will lead Fujifilm's business across the EMEA region, where the company operates 55 group subsidiaries in 43 countries and employs 4,500 people in research and development, production, sales, marketing and service. Based in Düsseldorf, Iida is responsible for all business areas, including medical technology, optical and graphic systems, recording media, industrial products and Fujifilm’s comprehensive photography portfolio with photofinishing, digital cameras and instax. In addition, he will also oversee younger businesses such as regenerative medicine, cell culture media and membrane technologies, which leverage many of Fujifilm's core technologies originally developed for its photo film business.

After graduating from Keio University (Japan), Toshi Iida, born in 1967, started his career in 1991 in Fujifilm’s international marketing department in the field of photo film. After holding various positions, he took on his first function in Europe in 1997 at Fujifilm UK. After his return to Japan in 2005, Toshi began a long and successful career in the Electronic Imaging department and was appointed Head of the unit in 2016; at the same time, he took over the management of the Optical Devices department. In Fujifilm’s  Electronic Imaging department, Iida was responsible for establishing the Fujifilm X Series brand and for the introduction of the GFX 100 camera system which was first presented in 2018. Toshi has already arrived in Düsseldorf in compliance with the Covid-19 requirements.
